I have been drawing and designing since I was a little girl. As a child I drew constantly and made my own paper dolls, not knowing that I would grow up to establish my own clothing pattern company. I have also continued the the quilting heritage passed down to me by my grandmother, Hulda Baker, my mom Dolores Baker, and my aunts Donna Easterday and Ramona Schofield, and I am now designing quilt patterns commercially as well. In 2008 I returned to my artistic roots and began spending a lot more time drawing and painting. Now we have retired to the Asheville area and I am able to pursue my art even more wholeheartedly. So much has transpired in the last two years, I can hardly wait to see what exciting things God has planned for the coming years. He is swinging open doors of opportunity that I never knew existed.
I painted this little painting today while spending the day with a friend of mine. I am very pleased with the outcome. The reference photo showed the plate of lemons on a striped tablecloth. The doily was from my imagination. Watercolor on 9" x 12" Arches block.
