I have been drawing and designing since I was a little girl. As a child I drew constantly and made my own paper dolls, not knowing that I would grow up to establish my own clothing pattern company. I have also continued the the quilting heritage passed down to me by my grandmother, Hulda Baker, my mom Dolores Baker, and my aunts Donna Easterday and Ramona Schofield, and I am now designing quilt patterns commercially as well. In 2008 I returned to my artistic roots and began spending a lot more time drawing and painting. Now we have retired to the Asheville area and I am able to pursue my art even more wholeheartedly. So much has transpired in the last two years, I can hardly wait to see what exciting things God has planned for the coming years. He is swinging open doors of opportunity that I never knew existed.
I just realized that the landscape I just finished was not on my blog. Ooops! I call it "Bit-o-Heaven". It is a 16 x 20 oil painting on stretched canvas. It was also painted while I was in Lorelle's art class.
I really like your landscapes. They looks so real. Hopefully we'll get to visit this summer, so I can see the work in progress.
ReplyDeleteThanks Austin! I look forward to your visit.
